I'm a complete Audiophile noob looking for some help on upgrading my current setup. My current equipment is as follows:
1) Desktop PC and 1st generation Apple iPad
2) Logitech Z-2300 THX certified Speaker system connected to Desktop PC
3) Koss Ur/29 headphones that I switch between the PC and iPad
I listen to primarily .WAX, .RM files from the internet and .WAV files from CD's.
I use the headphones 80 to 90 percent of the time and the external speakers far, far less often.
I primarily listen to audio books and occasionally listen to vocalist music (so I'm primarily interested in recreating the human voice in as great realism as I possibly can). What is the single greatest improvement I could make to upgrading my existing system? I was thinking in terms of possibly a tube amp, DAC or possibly better headphones. Is there anything else I should consider? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
