Im looking to purchase my first pair of high quality headphones for around 300-400$ cad. The headphones that catch my eye at the moment are the PRO-750, but i have heard the treble may be a little harsh which i cannot stand.

I will be listening to trance music, and would like the headphones to shine with this kind of music.

Currently i will be using onboard audio, but wil most likely upgrade soon.

Thanks

Well i'v got the 750's, however they've just been made redundant by my HFI 680's. O.K. i'd advise the 780 for you, but the treble (on my 680's) needs a little bit of taming. My advice; you need an amp ... not something too over the top. But the HFi's rule.... i've never heard anything like them! Now i'm looking to get the 780 myself.

The HD650 is possibly the most non-fatiguing headphone ever made due to its gentle smooth sound and rolled off treble, but you will need an amp.

Jecklin Float is the epitome of non-fatiguing!

You can start with HFI/Pro-550, or DJ1 Pro.

Agreed. Order from the States and you might be able to get a pair new in your price range.

My 650s have become my "before bedtime" cans.

I had pro750's for a few months, very easy to listen to.Thought they were great until i got some SR80i's,then they sounded broken. It shows how far i am on the road to doom,as i now find my SR325is's to be a bit smooth. No hope for me

Rolled off highs, yes, but the midbass hump is a tad bit fatiguing in its own way on bassy tunes IMO. While HD650 is far less fatiguing than other phones I have had, HD580/600 is probably a bit more gentle to ears

word! You can also wear them 24/7 and never feel any discomfort

Also, the early and mid production sextetts are non-fatuiging.

and orthodynamics are probably the best candidate, IMO because they are the smoothest sounding headphone you will ever hear, but at the same time, they have lots of detail- more then most dynamics.

I concur. The HD600 is less fatiguing than the HD650. The over prominent bass of the HD650 gave me a headache at times.
