My local supplier was most kind to let me test these Bluetooth headsetsin their business lounge. My choice, the Nokia BH-504 lacked the open atmosphere and flat response of the Jabra. The usability and sturdier build of the Nokia settled the deal. I never tried the BH-503.
So here I am, burning the new BH-504 in and cross testing against my all time winner Beyerdynamic DT-770 Professional 250 Ohm. Beyer is still the champ, hands down. But the BH-504 is also tuned for a basshead.
Nokia BH-504 vs Beyerdynamic DT-770
DT-770 is well documented on this board. My overall first impression of the BH-504 is less muffled than the DT-770.
BH-504 lack the clarity of Beyer's middle and upper highs.
Midrange is more defined in DT-770.
The bass of BH-504 is not as deep, though it goes low. Some bass test music sounded correct all the way down to 10 Hz. As I felt a little too sceptical about my own judgement, I had to convince myself time and time again with real music. For example, the last note in "Way Down" on the Elv1s CD is almost as deep as with DT-770.
The conclusion of my short sound quality review of the Nokia BH-504 Bluetooth headset is: impressive.
