W5000s are looking amazing, you got some great pictures there. In addition, the L3000s are looking fine as usual. Thats one thing to love about AT most of their headphones are quite classy

Sorry if that has been asked before.

I think it's the Italian word for 'Refined'

The L3ks are, believe it or not, not that big. I was a bit startled to see how much smaller they were next to the set of A900s I used to have.

That said I'm wondering if these are the largest W phones?

These things (the W5000s) are so freakin classy looking it's riduculous. I actually like them not lacquered. As a guitar player I tend to really dig satin finishes.

I love those pictures. I am just about ready to order. I seriously need to hold out for a little, but with all these pictures and + impressions I don't know if I can.

Lovely pictures Overlunge! The grain on this pair of W5000s is so nice. I like that it is more subtle and not so contrasty. I had literally just posted a thread about me going back and focusing on my stereo rig, but pictures like these are not helping!

Curiously, the W100 seemed to have the largest 'volume' housing of all the W series. From observation, the W5000 has a slightly lower profile housing than the W1000. (hence the photos) and also a ring of R10-esque vibration isolation from the frame it self, hence the picture of close up onto where the housing joins on to the frame.

I am sticking to my rules, no impression.

Thanks for sharing!

Just wondering in the above picture, which one is W5000 jack? (EDIT: Silly me, I just figured it out, the bottom one with a thicker cable must be L3000 with the sheath whereas W5000, top one, doesn't...)

I know this seems silly and irrelevant but are there any chance of further pictures/descriptions of the flight case? - I'm trying to find every excuse to resist!

My pet peeve with AT is the lack of "protection/packaging" with their product even when they reach beyond $1K. Which was in fact one of the (less important) reasons I've the AD900 instead of the AD2000. Given the pricing, I can easily find myself committing than with AD2000.

W5000 signals a delightful change in AT's package mentality and I think will be well received, though may prove to be detrimental to my bank account... Subsequently, I'm interested to read impression of the durability of the case, e.g. are they proper hinge and how flimsy is the moulded handle...
