NITSCH x Schiit Magni Piety - Impressions Thread

K sorry for the stupid question.

I have a Piety, and a Modi multi-bit 2. I have the Piety and Modi linked via rca and the multi-bit connected to my MacBook via USB-C.

I WANT to be able to connect various items (my Switch, PS Vita, Steam Deck, 3DS, etc) via 3.5mm to my stack. Is there a way to do this?
Use either a switch box or a passive preamp. Bellari makes a nice inexpensive pre similar to the Schiit Sys but with 4 inputs instead of just 2. I think one input is even a 3.5mm. If you are set on all 3.5mm, I saw a few inexpensive 3.5mm switch boxes on Amazon with multiple inputs but no idea how good they are.
Sometimes coming up with the right words to google is the hard part. Investigate a little and you should find something right for you.

Just one at a time. I haven’t even heard of the sys. I’ll have to take a look. I know I’m a little unusual in wanting to have these systems use the Dac and amp. I know I could just use rca -> 3.5mm if I wanted to just use the amp. This is why I wish I could find a Schiit Hel 1. It would be perfect. Lol

What would the connection for this look like?

*edit*
Or would something like this in the coax jack work? https://www.amazon.com/Micca-Premium-SPDIF-Digital-Coaxial/dp/B00V436UQU

I just googled coax to 3.5mm and that’s what came up. Any reason that would work out of the coax jack on the back of the modi?
I ordered this last year when I was switching between 3 headphone amps. This model is not currently available from Amazon, but it gives you an idea of what you need.

Edit: Like the Sys, you can reverse the port's labelled function: Plug your source into the ports labelled "out" (making it an input port) and the audio is then piped out through the ports labelled "in", making them output ports.

Is there any difference between the power supply you get with the Piety versus the power supply you get with the ordinary Magni/Heresy? I remember reading that there was something unusual about the power supply here, but I don't remember if it was Piety-specific or just this tier of Schiit devices in general.

It's the same. Even says "Schiit" on it.

Like @Dr. Cube said, they are exactly the same. I’ve interchanged my Piety power supply with Magni heresy power supply. No difference at all

The Magni power supplies are AC wall warts. 115 VAC. Most power supplies are DC.

From the FAQ
“Hey, so does that mean I can plug in some uber-special, gold-plated, cryo-treated, 85-lb 2000VA wall wart and have even better performance?
Unless you know what you’re doing, we don’t recommend that. Magni uses an AC wall wart. Most are DC. DC won’t work with either Magni. Plus, seriously? This is an affordable amp. You want to use some $599 power supply with it? Nah.”

Gotcha. I'm just nervous because I've been burned before: The Liquid Spark DAC and amp stack both use the same barrel connector for power, except the DAC PSU is 12V and the amp PSU is 36V. One time I mistakenly plugged the amp PSU into the DAC and instantly fried it. Which, I accept responsibility for that mistake, but it has to be said that that is just bad design. If you're going to design two matching products like that with the intent that consumers would buy and use both side-by-side, and then make such a mistake so easy to make, that's just plain bad.

I'm working on a stack with the Piety, MM2, and Loki Mini, all of which use what look like the same power supplies, I just wanted to make sure they all truly are the same. Once bitten, twice shy. lol

https://www.schiit.com/products/wall-warts

Schiit only makes 2 wall wart products. The Magni/Modi wall wart and a 24 VAC power supply for the Vali 2++. The connector on the Vali 2++ is much bigger so that you won’t ever be able to interchange them.

New work stack installed. :L3000:

Modi Multibit 2, Loki Mini+ because I don't have Admin to install EQ on my work PC, and the Magni Piety on top. And indeed, all three of these devices use the same power supply, and it's a slow Monday today, so I went the extra mile and braided all the power cords together, as you can see in the background, lol.

Currently my work headphone is the Beyer DT150, I might swap it out for my Shure 1540 at some point.

Any way you slice it, though, huge upgrade over the FiiO K5 Pro it's replacing, that's fer sure.
