Was this change ultimately justified? Does the Niimbus give you a clear advantage when using your set of headphones?

p.s.
I have the opportunity to become the owner of Niimbus 5 pro, but there are doubts.
The main reason I'm looking at Niimbus is to get better control over the driver (1266 and Stealth) and more transparency about Vio.
There are also independent measurements of Niimbus and Vio.

I really love the Niimbus. I had to send it in because the light on the volume control went out. I get it back Friday, I can't wait for it to be home again! I miss it, you don't know what you've got until it's gone!

Imho the niimbus will give you total control.

i have not heard the v590

i read about the 1266 having recessed mids. When i demoed the 1266 (twice) with my niimbus i did not notice any issues with mids at all.

i can’t 100% remember if i took my holo may kte in with me on one of these occasions when demoing the 1266 with my niimbus. If I didn’t then i would have used the store’s chord dave as the dac in the demo.

if you can pick up the niimbus at a price close to the v590 then i would be going for that out of those options. If there is a considerable/material difference in price then i am probably not the best voice having not heard the v590.

ps the susvara is great with that niimbus/may combo. Since buying the niimbus i have not looked (seriously) at any other ss amps - though i do read about them out of interest

Yes to everything, it's just more important now to (re)match your whole chain.

Every headphone I own benefits, some need different injections/tastes/colorations which is of course a personal thing, e.g. I love listening to the JAR headphones via the Sonic Frontiers DAC making the whole dac/amp chain a clear, open, breathing tube hybrid basically, in particular thanks to the Niimbus superior transparency and driver grip/control or overall effortlessness.

I decided to post a video of an interview with Fried Reim. They are not new and relate to the entire product line, but I don’t remember them being previously published in the Violectric / Niimbus threads.
Perhaps for some people the philosophy and sound features of Violectric / Niimbus products will become a little clearer.





I love that Fried Reim periodically comes to us flat-earthers and tells us in simple words that the earth is actually round.
I wish such interviews appeared more often.

I already have Gustard R26(R2R DAC) and was wondering if it will go well with Niimbus amp. I also plan on getting the Susvara as my next HP upgrade.
Can anyone share their thoughts on Gustard R26>Niimbus US4/5>Susvara chain?
Holo Bliss and Burson Soloist 3X GT(2023) are also in my radar but I think I am leaning more towards the Niimbus.

What? IMO is oposite, Enelum sound is relaxed, tube like and Niimbus is crisp and focused.

I have a niimbus us4+ on the way. Dacs are yggdrasil og a2 and t+a dac 200. I had also read Enelum was on the warm side for a ss amp where as niimbus was the king of clarity and detail. Seems like some people have different oppinions and some of it might be system synergy.

I'll be interested to see how the niimbus sounds compared to my current ss amps. I got it for Abyss ab 1266 phi tc and Susvara.
