I really enjoy listening to metal/jazz with Grado 325is and Schiit Asgard combo but sometimes I wish it has a little more bass punch. I've tried Sennheiser 650 and its bass is somewhat boomy for my taste. What would you recommend without breaking my bank and changing the Amp. My budget is around $600 and unfortunatly I live in the middle of desert *cough* aarizonaaaa *cough* so no auditing available for me...

RS1s.....it will basically end your grado journey and you will never look back again.

I do like the Grado sound and guess it's time for some shopping =D
I just some reviews on RS1 and RS2 indeed they are the perfect candidate for the upgrade. Thank you for the reply.

had the sr325is...
tried thinking something from the grado higher line up would provide me an UPGRADE to its sound, only to find out, im more fond of the clarity and punch of the 325is better than the rsx or psxxxx.

the 325is is a different breeed.
it isnt that expensive yet its very beautiful sounding.
it stands out than the rest in terms of the highs.

 I had the SR325i and I returned them for the SR225i. I couldn't stand the SR325i hahahaha

Similar experience here. I made the mistake of selling my 225i and "upgrading" to the 325is. What a mistake that was. Felt like I gave up some of my mids for more treble and mid-bass.
One day when I actually have money i'll get the 225i again. Maybe the 125 sounds similar.

I'm not a fan of the SR-80i at all, but loved the 225i.

For the SR series, I just find the SR225i to be the best and the sweetspot of the prestige line. Yes people will always say that the SR80 sounds the same as the SR225i, but no matter what they say, I find the 225 to be better. Sorry folks, I'm stubborn and I just found the 225i to be better than the 60i,80i,125i and the 325i.

If you're liking the Grado sound, then as others have said, the RS-1s would be a great next step. I would also suggest you try to listen to the PS500s. I upgraded from the 325s to the 500s and have really fallen in love with them. If the 500s looked like the RS-1s, I'd probably consider them about the perfect headphone for me. The $600 price point is the home of two Grado superstars, it's just a matter of which one is more your preference.

Mail your SR-325's to Symphones for the Magnum upgrade. Best $400 you can spend. It's the ultimate Grado.

i am dreaming of re-getting the MsPro one day...
the clarity n realism is just transfixing. ( to my ears..)
meanwhile,  my hd600/cardas is holding the fort as the ""middle of the road"" can in my warehouse.

where to go next.. seeking a new taste of cans....maybe a denon..???

The Denon is going to sound bloated (the bass is fun though) compared to your HD600 w/ Cardas cables.

If youre looking for something more lush, the HD650 is the next natural step in the chain.
