I currently have the Q-Jays which is a dual and I am very happy with it. I grew up with many Sonys so I am very interested in how these will sound. My current Sony favorite is the EX1000, can the XBA dethrone the EX1000?

Nope, it's just an option for us to consider. IMHO DD iems should be better categorized to other DD iems, BA to other BAs. There are some distinct characteristics of DD iems that the BAs cannot reproduce or vice-versa.
 
Though I don't consider the EX1000 on the iem throne, but it's definitely a very good sounding iem.

That puts classical music and orchestral performance in a terrifying niche... I wonder if the musicians playing unclothed would have an impact on "sensory appeal..." [this was too comedic in a raw/bizarre way, I couldn't restrain myself from commenting...

The thought of audiophiles sitting around their home naked for better SQ has not yet established itself on Head-Fi.org. But maybe it will, at some stage in the future.
Children coming home from school and seeing their parent on a chair naked, enjoying music.

For all the ppl thinking the quad driven one is gonna be expensive; it is not. In fact, it is surprisingly cheap compared to the westone 4 and the other triple diver solutions here in japan.
