I just got my E7 yesterday and for some reason I can't output the sound from my macbook pro without using the 3.5" jack.  In other words, I thought the USB connection bypasses the mac's soundcard and outputs the audio directly to the amp/dac?  I have tried setting the USB charge to one and off and got the same results.
 
With my iphone and ipad using the LOD the E7 works fine.  Thanks in advance for your comments!

Don't have a Mac, but I'll ask the obvious question: Did you select E7 as the default sound output? Did you Mac 'see' the E7 when you plug the USB in?

thanks for the reply.  how do i select the e7 as the sound source?  btw- i don't see the e7 from my mac (finder-windows explorer equiv.).

just found the control in my sound settings.  it's working.  thanks a lot for the tip!
