I am looking at possibly getting this for use with my diymodded ipod, and my laptop. Now, does the pico allow for the DAC to run audio thru it, while the output runs to the amp? Or do I have to use then another amp after the DAC?

In other words, is it one or the other....DAC or amp?

EXAMPLE: Music into pico via usb-->Pico's DAC-->(Then run thru the pico's amp?)-->out to headphone?

Im hoping im just having a noob moment and it can do both at the same time!

It is an amp that has dac functionality.

computer->usb->pico->headphones

or

ipod->analog->pico->headphones

Or better yet

computer->pico->desktop amp

So it has 2 outputs, one for volume controlled headphone, and one for lineout to the 'desktop amp'?

Or would you be using it as a pre-amp?

I AM A noob!

Use headphone out as variable line-out (preamp)

Thanks Andrew...I have that thread open in another tab. So it does do both at the same time and not just one or the other?
