SE and balanced both have their merits but I much prefer SE amps in general due to the more focused center image. Balanced soundstage is wider and at times deeper but on certain amp/headphone combinations, the ambiance is negatively affected by the separation. 
 
That being said though, I do have a couple of interesting things i'm thinking about. As the WA7 has an external power supply, I wonder if you're able to plug a battery into it to get it right off the grid....

I suspect some sonic improvements may make themselves very apparent on battery, but if the custom built PSU is good enough it saves the hassle.
 
Battery options also allow the amp to become transportable... something to think about given that the batteries themselves give 8-10 hours of charge.

The product page states it does not come with a power cord... Then how does one plug it into the wall to use!?

Sorry for the dumb question but I truly don't understand! Hate to order and find I still have to wait to use bc I don't have the proper cables after spending $799

It has a separate power supply, so there must be a cable between the two components that's provided
I'm not sure what happens between the wall plug and the power supply

It happens that you have to buy your own... I guess with different plugs depending on the country (since it appears to be voltage-switchable like most Woo Audio products) and esp. the tendency of cable enthusiasts preferring to use their own fancy cables, Woo decided to NOT waste a couple of bucks including one themselves

Surprised me a bit as well when I got my other WAs. Could kinda understand it for interconnects, but a power cable, c'mon...
 
Then again they're easy to get, or you may have some spare lying around already. Or spend some extra $$$ on a cool looking one that will magically negate the miles of generic power cabling to your house and the much-less-than-audiophile in-wall wiring... Though it might make sense if you actually use it between an extra $$$$ power conditioner and your power supply. If that's what Woo Audio assumes?
