I do not think there will be a sound difference in the amps. Look at the back of the amps and they are all the same black coloured casing unlike the amp that was done for the AK300 series.

Agree. From the pics it looks like it’s just styling rather than the whole casing. I.e. they might have just put the different front piece on so you can match it with whichever type of SPK you already have.

This is a decent video from the Germany high end show, they look very similar the SP1000 and SP2000, Only when the unit is flipped to its back you can tell an immediate difference.

I am still torn between getting the amp or upgrading to SP2000. Honestly I rarely use full size cans these days and the SP1000 is only used when I travel by air. SP1000Cu and Tia Fourte is still the best non-speaker setup sound I have ever heard, in some songs I feel that the combo is beating my full size can setup and is approaching the level of my previous BHSE-SR009 combo (but with bass).
