I asked A&K about Tidal and how RAM and here is there answer.

"File downloads and offline mode through Tidal is currently still exclusive to the iOS and Android apps. It is not supported by Astell&Kern products at this time. The SP1000 features 4GB of RAM."

8 core CPU & 4gb Ram, well you wont need to worry about slow down thats for sure.

+1
i agree with the appropriate thread
I think that the next mod will be an open deck 1Z, so you can change the cables from kimber to crystal cable or to Transparent cable depending on the type of headphones that you have, ooo and have allways a welding iron in the pocket....my God give me a break...the cable part is so subjective ...

Th
2 screen protectors for the front and two for the back like for most of the AK players; thick good quality transfer/charging cable
they also mention ´fast charging'. Does this need to purchase a special fast charger ?

The manual reads "Using a separate quick charger may take up to 2 hours 20 minutes to completely charge the battery." A charger doesn't come included, but it can charge off any powered USB outlet, only more slowly than if you use a fast charger.

I do not know what they really mean by "fast charging" in the manual...does it mean only charging it with a 9.0V 1.67A charger?....there are many other excellent chargers offering fast charging with Quick charge 3.0 etc ...they also said that the 12V might be bad for the player.... In this case I am using my 29W mac charger which is 14.5V=2A and 5.2V=2.4A compatible and also my Anker battery Quick charge 3.0 which is 18W: 3.2-20V dynamic; I do not think those chargers will be bad for the SP1000 or other AK player; the only charger I found having the exact 9.0V 1.67A is below from Samsung; obviously higher capacity chargers have backward compatibility; I will advise just not to use to USB PC/Mac port; otherwise use any good quick charger; in conclusion: what is "fast" for some can be "slow" for others....

Fast charging is generally not good for long term LiON battery life. If SP1000 only goes up to about 80% under fast charge, then goes to standard charge for the rest, then it's not so bad. Similar principle to not letting the charge drop down to zero, but around 20% before recharging.
