It hurts my eyes to see stuff like this.
I noticed in your pics, the Z barely fits the case. It's a really tight fit. The upper edge definitely sticks out of the enclosure making it more prone to damages. I dont see this with the 2nd case I mentioned (flip style). The Z fits loosely and the edges are well protected in the case.
I posted a PDAIR case with my Sony A865 in the current rig section. It's spacious and doesnt wabble within. The upper 'tag' secures the player. Also I use this A walkman for running inside an arm band for ipod. Its for me the best Sony walkman ever!
I havent yet posted a pic of my Z (that would be too much of a show-off for now)

I use the 1st type of PDAIR case with my Z1070. I actually like the craftsmanship but buyer should beware that the case doesn't do a good enough job of protecting the top corners as well as the bottom right corner of the unit. However, it did a great job projecting the screen and frontal of the unit though.
Pictures below illustrate that the PDAIR case didn't do a good enough job protecting my Z when I dropped it against the ceramic floor. Notice a dent located at the bottom right of my Z after my incident and a paint chipped located at the top right corner.
