For anyone without any way to update their NA model to ICS, enjoy:

No, they were not of any help.  Luckily I stumbled upon the link, 0001 = USA

Those with volume caps: You can always flash with 0001

Let us know if you're enjoying capped free audio after the flash :D

Why do I have this recollection that the device won't allow you to use firmware meant for different versions of the device? Was that earlier in this thread or elsewhere?

I don't think you can flash it with a different version other than the one it was meant for. I've tried flashing the NA version on the EU version walkman z I had and it didn't work. Doesn't even recognize it.

You can, when I get the free time I'll study the flasher software and firmware.  So far it appears that all devices are flashed with the same firmware image.

The only things that change are those marked by the region identifiers.  Volume capping and a few locale modifications are the end result.

The hardware drivers, applications, etc are all exactly the same.

if you have a rooted device than must install apps are set cpu, root explorer, titanium backup, ADFREE

ONE more genral tip: force closing usefull apps leads to battery drain and performance slowdown

Abhisheak to the rescue!!!
We need ICS root and until now I've tried all methods including bin4ry's exploit, but none seems to work.

Please help!! Want root on this device so badly.
This device can be so much more, only if we had root.
