Has anyone used the Sony with a Hiby FC3? It's on my list of "upgrades" for next month. I probably don't need it, but I wanna try anyways lol

BTW I fondly remember the X3 and it's funky looking button layout. It wasn't a brick either. The a306 is really nice dap, but like you said, with the bass problem popping up it's a gamble.

Yes the last walkman with sense me channels along with original WMA 1a and 1z and it is very upsetting to me.. is there any alternative to it for making playlists on pc or so ?

My NW-A306 lacks bass so I ran the REW test and this is the output. I hope I ran it right.

I ran the same test on my NW-A55 as comparison and this is the result below

From what I can tell I have the same issue with the lack of bass. I purchased mine via the Sony store in Australia. I am in discussions with Sony about it. They want me to take it to a repair centre. I just want a new one that sounds right.

I hope this is just an Software issue, but somehow this still sounds like an capacitors issue to me... if so, people would have to send back all their A300

And most countries block you from sending anything with an Li-Ion Battery to Japan... that is going to be painfull. I think UPS still allows it, but rules getting stricter every year

I imported my NW-306 through Accessory Jack to the states about a month ago based on recommendations earlier here. I have a unique issue that I haven’t seen mentioned yet regarding the bass. When I first turn it on and listen through the headphone jack, the bass is weak. When I unplug the headphones, then plug them back in, the bass is there in spades. It fixes the problem every time. This is only necessary when first firing it up after the unit sits idol for an hour or so (I have auto shutdown set to 1 hour). I’ve tried a restart and factory reset. I’ve also tried other cables, but nothing resolves the issue. Oddly enough, I didn’t have this problem in the first couple weeks of owning it.

I ordered mine on 2/8 from eBay Japan and it has a 60 day return policy. I gave them a heads-up a couple of weeks ago and they were OK with accepting the return. Guess I'm going to start the return process and wait for this issue to be sorted out to finally buy another :frowning2:

They probably sold a lot more 306's. Hence why we are seeing more.

Mine is acting up too, I've done 2 resets . Idk what the heck is going on with these Sony's. Didn't have a problem before. Somebody should probably touch bass with AJ just incase it turns out to be a hardware problem. I mean I haven't been using the headphone jack much, but it went down in volume, then was OK, then the bass seemed weak, I had to adjust EQ. This is probably the craziest thing I've seen in portable audio, I mean I don't remember anything this weird.
