New Sony Walkman NW-A300 Series (Android 12)

most likely my second choice would be the M11 Plus ESS.
I've tried that player.
It's quite smooth in sound, but I haven't been impressed with its sound. And at the same time it's a real brick.
It is very inconvenient to carry such a thing with you on the road. And at home it is much more convenient to usr the stationary device.

Hi,
I've had a few MP3's and a couple of DAPs over the years. Maybe not to the high end as some of you in this site but the Sony's have never failed to deliver in musical playback. There's more plus's than minuses in my book. At least with the 306 they've managed to fix the battery issues of the previous 105. I think it's great value for money. Only downside for me is I'm not fused about the streaming.
Sorry for waffling on 🤔😁 Graham

How can a device sound slow? What does that even mean? Are people saying that the music played back on such device takes longer to complete than the actual recorded time for the track? People throw this idea of a device sounding slow without any actual description of what that means and certainly without any practical theory for how this could happen from a physics perspective. Is there any such explanation, or is this simply audio myth that gets propagated on the Internet over and over again?

Strange comments for sure as I haven't noticed anything remotely like that? Chuffed to bits with mine 👍👌

It could be due to it not having enough PRaT or not having enough treble. Ive been out of the hobby for quite some time now so my glossary isnt as detailed nor as accurate.

I am using the WM1ZM2 on the road, so who are you talking to? xD

i use it either via aux cable or ive got this Bluetooth receiver that also plugs into the aux that works well. i have an older car tho with no usb in or built-in Bluetooth.

you could also get something a bit more expensive like the fiio Bluetooth adapters as well. they also have car modes for powering off with your car if it has usb

https://www.fiio.com/btr3k

those with newer cars, does android auto work with the player?
Android auto does not work. I receive a message "The OS is missing the components needed" or something similar to that message when plugging into my car.

Search Z1R holder on youtube for a start. Someone posted a video 🙂
It took me a few attempts after watching that video but I finally got it.

Hi,

I just purchased the Sony A306 yesterday to use at the gym with LDAC headphones / adaptors (ifi go pod)

I know the Sony A306 has severely limited output on the 3.5mm however didn't expect this to have any impact on BT.

I am using the same headset connected to the AK3000 and HiBy RS8 over LDAC and getting at least 25% more volume on the headset compared to the Sony A306.
I am playing the same tracks on Tidal.

I absolutely love this small player and would hate to return it because of this limitation. I can EQ it up a little more - say 10% using the built in 'Clear Audio' or the 'Equalizer' but would prefer not to be doing this but it is a requirement given how low the volume is. I am playing the same track on Tidal.

I have attached some images below of setting I have.

I would be super grateful for some help on fixing this or learning if this is an actual problem with the UK sold units.

Any alternatives to this would be greatly appreciated in terms of full android & streaming, small size, weight and LDAC.

Well let's hope I can fix this with a button :)

As far as i know, the regulation is broth true for Analog and Bluetooth.

Someone else in the past asked that and because i couldn't reproduce it, i thought it was an issue with the Setup.

But i later found out, that this regulation affects outputs in general. So i assume the A300 would be louder, but there is no 100% clear answer on that. Its all, as germans say, wischi waschi. But more and more people notice this behaviour, so i think it is true, that the bluetooth output is (however they managed to do that) limited to.

Hi,
I ordered the UK version when it first came out and sent it straight back without opening it. I'd suggest you do the same and try and get a non capped version. Try asking the people on here as I did, I was fortunate to have a fantastic chap bring me one back from abroad. It's fantastic 👏
I know it's a bloody nuisance but well worth the trouble. Good luck 🤞🤞 GJ

this is not an issue on the UTW5 from Fiio where the volume goes up as much it does on the AKSP3000 (or as much as my ears can take) , could it be that I am using LDAC on the ifi go?

also not an issue on the littlewhite as in the pic. however the littlewhite is only getting aptX HD on it and dont' know how to switch to LDAC. the moondrop "Supports High-Definition LHDC, AptX HD, AptX Adaptive Transmission Protocols".

thanks. any chance you've tried turning up the volume on a headphone with LDAC?
