I find the ZX507 very sensitive to volume changes. At a certain volume dynamics are preserved and sound is consistent and smooth. I don’t think it plays well at higher volumes - in my experience above 85, which is a shame because I find I can’t really rock out. At higher volumes the sound becomes stressed and inconsistent and a bit shouty. I find this is also the case with lower vs higher gain. Sound much more relaxed in lower gain. In my experience this player is very revealing and has a good level of detail however I can “hear it” but I can’t “feel it” at higher volumes when it comes to impact delivery, difficult to describe. Anyone else have this experience?

I think it really depends on the headphones you use. I have the limited EU version, but with the Sony MDR1AM2 I mostly listening between 65 and 75 depending on the files volume without any problems... 85 and higher ... with the MDR1AM2 this would be much too loud for me .

I am still amazed and very satisfied with the ZX507's sound quality 😀😃

Just arrived to Madrid a couple of days ago, my new ZX507 from Amazon Japan.

I’m super-mega-ultra happy… :beyersmile: What amazing sound !!! It is all your ”fault”, after 515 pages, I was fully convinced.

do u update through wifi and system update tab in settings - advanced?
I have not yet updated. still 4.02. see no reason. maybe I am wrong. and they fixed wav file recognition issue by walkman music app and file system, because I have 1 or several albums in wav and I can reach them only by foobar app. Sony or (even google file apps) dont see that wav folder at all.
