The wireless projection works fine for me. Try to do a factory reset on the EM5 and install a fresh copy of the Eddict Player and see if this works for you.

Software team released app update last week, that was supposed to be a bit better. Did you tested it yet?
So far now news on firmware update.
No, it affects only local file playback.

Hello everyone. Just received my EM5 today. I was somewhat worry after reading some of the issues/bugs that were reported here.
So far the synergy is very good with the LCD-XC. Sound is nicely balanced with a good if not great stage presentation (still too early, still in honeymoon time
)
Regarding the App remote control, I think I have found the problem. After enabling the remote app on the EM5 you need to get out of that screen otherwise the app just report back error. As soon as I went back to previous menu, it connected right away.

So far here are my observations:
- on air update from Shanling server is very slow. Took about 40 minutes. Upgraded to latest version 1.27 (unit came new with 1.20).
- Scanning is slow. I have a 4 TB USB external drive with about 3 TB of music and I was not patient enough to wait for it to complete.
- Adding / Setting of Tidal & Apple Music was very easy and work on first try. Setup Apple music on the EM5 screen and it was small but manage to get it on first try, setup Tidal using the remote app and there was a small delay but it's acceptable and my iPhone screen was easier to type.

If this thing had roon support you could instantly get rid of most bugs.

Just updated the firmware of EM5,
- Wireless projection is much better in either iOS and android 11, at least can find the device and connect without problem. (After playing music for an hour, the projection may cannot reconnect/unavailable in the device list in Eddict App)
- Still sometimes pop up shanling app force close message when quit from online service, e.g. Apple music and Tidal
Problem:
- When Eddict App cannot find EM5 in wireless projection device list, EM5 screen cannot wake up when short/long press volume button, however it's still working, e.g. playing music and can adjust the volume. Screen appear after around 30 sec later
- Wireless projection is much better in either iOS and android 11, at least can find the device and connect without problem. (After playing music for an hour, the projection may cannot reconnect/unavailable in the device list in Eddict App)

I have the EM5 as review unit since few days. But I always get PCM format (shown on the touch display) if I use Tidal with my Mac or PC. I used the stock USB cable for the connection. I installed the latest firmware yesterday. Is there a trick to stream MQA files?

Yes via the streaming app. I don't know about wifi.
MQA unfolding is only supported through build-in Tidal app or if you would have some locally stored MQA files.
USB Input is not capable of unfolding MQA.
I know there is issue on our product specification, I'm sorry for that, will adjust it.

Have you tested it? My device is not working on wireless projection, im on the latest firmware, i have tried my phone and tablet (both on android 12) also my DAP (android 9) nothing works. So frustrating
I must say time and time again am a bit surprised that china audio game has improved so much. I always had that negative image of china made products despite being chinese myself, but the china audio game has been stepping up and up... Shanling seems to be a promising company.
