Believe it or not, I actually carry about 100 CD's with me almost every where I go. Yeah, I know -- pathetic.

100? wow...that is a lot! I carry 48 with me and that's more than enough to make my portable heavier than crap

. I did the math on how many CD's you could put on the 20 gig PJB at 320k bitrate, and it's a lot. More than 100 I believe. At 256K you could store approximately 160 hours of music. That's not bad!

And there's no way the NJB has a 150mW amp. It's less than 10mW, actually, I think 5. The personal jukebox does have a 50mW amp.

wait, neruda....i thought tyll (todd?!) had a PJB, TA, and Etys as his setup. Why would he need the TA if he had 50 mw of clean power straight from his PJB? HUH!?

coolvij: The PJB does indeed claim 50mw of power from it's headphone jack, but theres more to an amp's sound than Mwattage. Otherwise there'd be no purpose to owning MG Heads or Headmasters, Headroom Max's, etc.

And I would think that because of the way Todd earns a living, having a Headroom amp in his portable setup would make a lot of sense....no matter how good it's source.

mbriant: yes, you're right that mwattage means very little...but I have to wonder.....

Thanx, neruda. Maybe once I meet ONE of them in person (HINT, HINT! ) I won't confuse them.

If I had a dollar for every post I've ever read about the latest "MD-killer" I wouldn't have to get up Monday morning and go to work.

Just give HD players some time. The first MD players could compete with CD at all...

I'm always happy to see Neruda mention the Treo. I usually take it to mean that he knows something that I don't, but you can't deny that this thing is like 6 months late in arriving to a store near you. What the hell?

I first read a review of it a d'music.com maybe last January? February? Around then. I then patiently waitied for it. But like clockwork, its release date keeps getting pushed back.

So, my question is this: Neruda, why are you still keeping the faith? What makes you so sure the Treo will EVER come out????

my question is, why are you so damn worried about when it will come out? They must have mentioned it way prematurely. I'm not worried about that. Just wait, it will come out. Most likely not when they say it will though. personally I'm not worried about when. But if you're so anxious, look around. there are a few stores that are already selling them.

I have no need or interest in HD players. Neruda does. Different strokes.....or needs...for different folks....or dweebs....whatever.

Anyway - even if the Treo does not ever come out, I guarantee you there will be good 3G and 4G and 5G hard drive based designs......I mean, imagine 6th generation hard drive players!

Then again, by that time, MD should have 16X Type R recording with Net MD or something......hopefully.
