They truely are awsome headphones for the price you pay. IMHO, best bang for the buck headphone = HD600

Sleepy..congrats on the purchase. I have a pair of A900's and im thinking about just one more set of headphones to complete my set. I want a pair of open senn's, so ive been contemplating either the 595's or the 600's. Sleepy, have you tried the 595's? If so, how would you compare them and the 600's? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? If you don't have the 595's, jsut tell me how good the 600's are!

Welcome to Team Sennheiser! Sweet cans, eh? No need for $5,000 sources or amps like some people claim, just halfway decent gear. And if/when you upgrade, the cans will improve right along with the rest of your gear.

HD580/600 were the first real cans I ever heard... when I say real I mean it literally, they revealed everything I had before (various Denons, Koss, etc) as the toy headphones they were.

I recently got my pair of HD600's too, and even though my current source is not very good (evil mainstream DAC's) they still sound pretty damn good

Soon I'll have an M-audio Revo which most likely will make my source up to speed with the rest of my system. I've borrowed a friends M-audio Audiophile USB so I know what to expect

Is yours using the standard cable? You can even improve the sound more by upgrading it. Of course you could always run away from head-fi and never come back and save loads of $$$

Not true. Everyone knows you need $1,000,000 worth of gear for them to sound good

The 600's are one of the best deals out there right now. With all the sellers pushing the 650's the older model can be had for a fraction of what they cost a couple of years ago. The real bonus they are still IMO one of the best headphones out there.

Congrats on the new cans Sleepykyng! They are super-comfy, and sound quite good. If the Senn sound is to your taste, these cans do a great job. What's also nice is that you can always tweak the sound later with an aftermarket cable.

Do I smell sarcasm here?

Anyway, the HD600 is one of those headphones that actually sound decent on really cheap equipment, but really come on their own on higher-end equipment. This is unlike some other headphones in their street price range, which either need super-expensive equipment just for them to be even listenable, or they sound okay on cheap equipment but awful on expensive equipment.
