Just look at my avatar. I am quite chilled...
Just found a bit annoying that it was released in the UK last week, and in Norway first this upcoming Friday.

Waddya expect? It's a Bond movie after all. Britain's pride. Aside from Mr. Bean.

Times have changed and so has cinematography. The fans of the Dr. No era are long extinct and the time has come for a Bond franchise for the next generation of people.

I found the Bond movies of yesteryear to be enjoyable but ultimately mediocre. The past films emphasized silly gizmos and doohickeys that created too much tongue-and-cheek. This style can only be successfully marketed today under comedy labels like Austin Powers. Far-fetched gadgetry and cavalierism are two thing that should be minimized in the new Bond films.

Casino Royal exuded new-found energy because they focused on tangible conflicts between characters and gritty action scenes. I hope the sequel uses the same recipe but turns it up a notch.

For those who have already seen Quantum of Solice, consider yourselves fortunate that you didn't get stuck with a U.S. release date of November 14, 2014.

I saw Quantum of Solace last night. Overall I liked it more than Casino Royale, but that could just be because it didn't drag on and on. As far as Daniel Craig as Bond, I agree with the assertion that one cannot compare Craig's performance to those of older Bonds since he's playing a much younger, pre-gadget Bond who's almost a different character. I would definitely like to see Daniel Craig's Bond develop into something more like Sean Connery in future Bonds. I think he has more potential to live up to Connery's legacy than any of the other Bond actors.

I saw quantum of solace last night, and preferred Casino Royale by a far margin. They switched directors, and I felt the cinematography wasn't as good. A lot of really over the top action scenes and the characters and plot seemed underdeveloped.

Here's my honest review of Quantum of Solace:

"Quantum of Solace" aka "Bond Gone Wild."

Saw QoS yesterday. IMHO it wasn't very good. The biggest problem is the editing of the action sequences. There are entirely too many cuts, it's impossible to follow the action. It's cut much like my least favorite Bourne film. What good is an action scene if it has so many cuts that it is impossible to follow?

And he did use at least one high tech gadget, his cell phone.

I'd give it a C- (Whereas I gave Casino Royale a B)

I pretty much agree with every point you made. IMO, people who liked QoS are extremely easy to please.

I'd say it was ok.. but the schizophrenic camera work in the action scenes was a little TOO jarring for my tastes. The Theme music truly sucked too. And since when did they stop putting bullet proof glass in bond's cars? you'd think they'd have learned by now...

Saw it yesterday. Was very disappointed.

No story, only pursuits, after pursuits, after pursuits.... In cars, in planes, on water, on foot,...

Worst James Bond movie ever, and worst movie I've seen it a long time considering my expectation for this movie.

x2...though I have just one nit-pick with your spot on comments....What plot??? I couldn't follow it...too much jumping from place to place.
Even so I'd give it 7/10 just because it was so much fun.
