[RCM]

I've been out of the Headfi spectrum for awhile and all my equipment except my custom IEMs has been sold off so I'm starting fresh after about 5 years and have no idea what's out there...I have thousands of songs ripped Apple lossless so want to use that format.
 
Any suggestions for either the best sounding stock iPod or equivalent and either no amp or a very small amp that I can use in a jersey pocket would be appreciated.
 
Rig will be used with a set of UE 10 Pros.

You'd be hard pressed to do better than the new Fiio X5. 
 
Rave reviews for its sound quality, it will play your ALAC files, has dual SD card slots, and won't break the bank. Read up on some reviews in the products thread for more impressions.
