Just did an initial sweep on the Purple out of the box and initial impressions. Got a nice warm organic sound much in keeping with the Earsonics house sound. I do like the tuning response.

The tuning is difficult to see. I had to have the diagram in front of me and make sure the monitor is facing just as in the diagram.

Yeah, i am on the wrong side of 50 now and I need my phone torch app on to get it just right.

I used mine as well...also on the wrong side of 50. They don't make it easy.

I was infatuated with Warm mode but after critical listening found myself settling on Standard, only switch to Warm again since my review.

Tips were a touch of a challenge, I have my go to Spiral Dots and Final E tips but for some reason they weren't cutting it with the Purple. I found some dual flange Spin Fits, which feel like a bad seal, but I guess they aren't because they provide me the best sound. Strange thing is, I never use double flange tips.

So far the tips all seem to seal roughly the same which is unusual. I ended up with the bi-flange for comfort and depth. Mind you, break the seal and the loss of bass is huge.

Hey,
can anyone compare the Purple in Tight mode with S-EM6 V2?
Is the S-EM6 V2 still more neutral and reference sounding in comparison? How big the difference is?
Thanks.

How does it compared to Grace?

Very interesting question. Grace is TOTL and the Purple is more of an extension of the Velvet series, albeit an ass kicking extension. The Purple has the 3 different tunings, which actually have distinct sound differences. The Grace, does as the name applies, delivers it's sound with grace. It is smooth and super easy to listen to. The Purple is detailed but not cold and sterile. It really depends on your budget.

Can’t contain my newfound excitement for Earsonic Purple: The best gem I’ve ever encountered after UE7Pro and Inear StageDiver SD-5. Nice full-bodied low rumble with very natural decay and warmth, nimble and agile midbass followed by a steady climb into low mids - nothing in the frequency is broken and distant. Non-fatiguing treble with sparkle and brightness. Un(f**king)believable sense of space, lushness, texture and detail which drives me nuts. Forwardness and decay is really done right and definitely preserved the SM64’s tuning, along with the distinct Earsonic house sound.

QP1R > Forza Audioworks HPC > Purple

Which mode out of 3 do you use?
For Velvet > Warm only as going to Tight and Standard makes the treble distant and whole sound grow soft...
For Purple: TIGHT > Birdman Soundtrack by Antonio Sanchez which has more speedy drumming and lively binaural atmosphere. Really detailed

Purple: WARM > Ichiko Aoba’s QP: Acoustic vocals. Simple arrangement. Deep classical guitar.

Those are the albums I routinely audition with.

I know that ES should come up with a new version of the S-EM6 V2 soon and I was considering them as an addition to my collection along with my current S-EM6 V2 (2017).
On the other hand I don't think that the new 6 driver IEM will be different in sound signature from the 2017 model and may be it makes more sense to look into Purple direction.
S-EM6 V2 can stay as a reference and the Purple is for fun when needed. Let's see.
I would add the S-EM9 to it but I don't like too much bass.
