Can anyone tell me if these are any good. I know some people like the current edition, but were there major improvements made from this model to the current model? I will mostly be using these for gaming, since it apparently has a nice sound stage.

The diff. between 2003 version of dt880 and the new one is very small increase in detail, and the cosmetic look..........but these are really best at Classical music, not gaming. The "quintessential" gaming headphone is Beyer dt770/80 - which is most-frequently obtained from a Guitar Center store. Usually you will dicker them down to $145-150. Someone posted that he recently got a pair from them for IMS $125. There have been pairs available on the F.S. page here, selling for those same amts. w/shipping.

DT-880(2003 model) or DT-770/80 both would be great for $150.

Buy them both...best of both worlds.
