New Custom-to-Universal IEMs: InEar StageDiver 2/3

Apr 20, 2015 at 4:21 PM Post #1,202 of 1,401
Absolutely love my SD-3's so far. They're the first iem that I actually look forward to listening to as they're so comfy and sound fantastic.

However having bought a used pair the cable needs a replacement. I am finding myself eq'ing these a but more than I'd like, mainly boosting the highs and lows and shifting the 500hz—2khz region down quite a bit.

I appreciate these are a warm sounding earphone but I feel they are slightly veiled in my eyes (or ears).

Apologies if this has already been answered, but could you suggest a cable that maybe lifts this veil and brings out the highs while maintaining the bass impact? Maybe even widen the soudnstage as a bonus?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are they good? I can still find them online, but you are correct, they are discontinued.

They are pretty damn good. Nice and fluidly warm with more than enough bass. The t10i will have more Bass. Whether the quality of the bass also increases or whether it deproves, I have no comment. I personally didn't like the t10i when I tried it and felt like it was the biggest waste of money. When I shared my experience in the t10i thread, I was told I was definitely doing something wrong. :information_desk_person:. I haven't gone back to try it again.
On the other hand, when I tried the ba200 on several occasions, I really appreciated the SQ and would have bought one if I weren't saving up to buy something else. I seem biased towards the ba200. I am. Since it was the one i felt is better and it's also cheaper.
Good luck with your decision :)

I believe nazrin has recommended a silver cable before. Check his sig. It should be there.

Thanks for recommending them. I'm looking around for them online at the moment. They are discontinued so it's harder to find. I agree with you on the t10i. It's okay, but not worth the money in my opinion. I wrote some impressions if you want to give it a read:

Thanks again. I hope I can still find them.

InEar is one of the CIEM around that tells people more BA doesnt mean better sound.

Love SD-2 over the rest of the line.

But again, sound is subjective.

I would get the sd-2, but it's way out of my budget. The max amount I can spend is the price of the sd-1. They look amazing, and I have heard many people say sd-2 is the best in the line.

@smithamb

Great deal. Thanks for sharing, however I don't like buying used earphones. It's just my personal preference to buy new. So far I found a place online that sells it for $130. It's on back-order though so it will take 2 - 3 weeks to ship out. If I decide on the tdk ba200, I will buy it from there. Thanks again though!

What is the price difference between SD 1 and 2?

You can choose to save up the difference in 2-3 mths.

Don't settle for something that u can afford at the point you are eager to purchase something new, and then regretted your actions that you didnt spend another few months to save up the difference to get the actual one that you like.

There is no "best" in the line. It is all a matter of personal sound signature preference. But SD-2 is probably worth the most for the money if not SD-4. Like I said before, looks aren't everything even though they may look "amazing". Sound should go first unless your whole point is to show off how it looks..... Btw, I would also look at Earwerkz Supra Universal. Haven't heard it yet but the reviews look promising. Or ACS Evoke universal. Both are pretty new and should be around your budget too. But really, it would be best to tell everyone your preferred sound signature.

Around $125 usd.

emusic13,

I will look into earwerks. Thank you. My main thing isn't about looks. It's mainly about comfort + sound. Comfort should matter, because what's the point of sound if you can't keep them in your ears for longer than 30 minutes due to pain and discomfort. I have made this mistake with many earphones in the past. Ofcourse sound is important, I look for this as most people, but for me comfort is half the battle.

I enjoy listening to EDM, Indie, some rap, some pop. Bass and clear vocals are most important to me. I just want bass to be present, it doesn't need to be overpowering like the t10i or anything.

I appreciate your help.

Supra will not have enough bass. If you like bass then forgo sd2 and save for sd3. Trust me. Saving up is worth it. it's actually more economical than slowly upgrading .
