Yes, the Dual-driver will have more Ei.3 character. Triple-driver will be different, early tuning for 3-driver turns towards more neutral/flat/reference type of signature but that can still change.

As mentioned before both line ups will exists for few months at the same time before phasing out the old line up. There will be also noticeable price hike so if one is in the market for cheaper IEM Ei.3 would still be the way to go.

Thanks for the info Piotr! I will make sure to add a note about it in the review so that anyone interested in the Ei.3 is aware of the changes that are gradually being implemented.

Very interesting developments and I wish you and the team all the best with the first two FIBAE models!

The One is based on different driver - same concept but finally up to our specs, it also has less damping (slightly brighter and detailed signature) and more advanced horn design, which has been redesigned completely to further improve highs.

The Dual-driver is completely new design, the previous build was quick 4-driver setup just to show this technology can work in multi-driver configs, but it wasn't really well tuned.

Does anyone have any comparisons of the Ei.3 to some of the midrange IEMs (specifically looking at the SM64v2's). I'm really interested in jumping into CIEMs and the Ei.3's look great as they are sort of a "gentle" introduction to CIEMS as far as price goes.

Currently rocking a pair of SM64v2's and really like the sound signature but am fed up with some of the build issues I've ran into over my short ownership of them.

Not sure if the v2, but I think this might be helpful:

Based on a very brief demo of the Ei.3 (but not knowing the SM64) I fully agree when @MrButchi says:
"But, when comparing Ei.3 to SM64, what really struck me out was how much all of the above blended so well together, how Ei.3 manages to cover some of the above described minuses by sounding so “united”."

Great answers at the discussion, Piotr! It was fun how you shamelessly plugged the FIBAE lineup when asked about further advances in the industry :D

Agreed 1000%. The FIBAE 2 is one of the most unapologetically fun and musical IEMs I've ever heard. It's unique in that it's extremely intimate, yet it's tuned to sound slightly laidback, so it's a amazingly packed with vivacious energy, but with brilliant finesse; the details are up, close, and personal, but it's never shoved in your face or aggressive. It's a contrast to the H8.2, which is darker, bassier, and more relaxed; the F2 has a sparklier, airier treble, and a more open and transparent midrange, yet it is impossible to make it sound harsh. The price estimates I heard being thrown about did nothing but further fuel the anticipation. Definitely one of the best things I auditioned at CanJam SG and now probably my no.1 bang-for-the-buck IEM recommendation by a mile. I can't wait to see what else FIBAE will bring, and I surely can't wait to drop cash on a full silicone F2 for both my ears and wallet to enjoy.
