Just got my new Complys with built in filters to go on my Ety4p Now a question: since the Comply has a filter toguard against earwax and such, do I still need to replace those filters in my Ety??? Seems "double filtration" is a work and perhaps the Ety filters aren't needed.

Any thoughts on this???

Leave the Ety filters alone. If I am not mistaken the Ety filters purposely affect the sound of the ER4's where the Comply wax guard is only for protection.

@ Antony

"Etymotic ER4S (deeply inserted with Shure small gray Soft Flex sleeves = no treble spike!)"

Great advice man!

Tried it with the HF5. Works wonders!!!

If only my right ear wasn't so fussy in keeping a seal with them.

Did you try changing to medium tip only for the right ear? ear canal size may be different...

So, Mike, did you go for the ER4P again?

Went back to ER4P after testing and buying the MiniboxE. They sound great with the Mini--much like Xin amps were made for the Ety sound, so is the Minibox. Couldn't be happier with the sound.

May now sell the X10 which are getting very little useage.

So would you guys say the small Shure soft flex sleeves are better than the small Shure olives?
