It's like $50-60 I believe, at least in MA.

You should check online: http://www.comcast.com/Shop/Buyflow/...opHSI&lpos=Nav I'm paying about $50 which includes their "Blast" service. I have cable TV service so it drops it down by $10 a month. With "Blast" 2/16Mbps up/down is advertised but I'm actually getting 3.5/20Mbps. I'd stick with what you have there. And this is from their faq: Comcast Help & Support Sounds like 250GB is both combined up/download. |

My only fears are that comcast and qwest will succeed in encouraging the state government to delay further buildout until such time as someone starts complaining about how much it costs for how few people have it. Because there's no economy of scale, because the scale is limited. I'm just lucky to live in Phase One territory. Or that some fundie will push for mandatory bowdlerization. The way it's set up, the physical network is strictly infrastructure to allow an ISP to talk to a customer. The network doesn't have the ability to filter content - all they do is switch MPLS tags to deliver data to and from. But they do require that the ISP meters the bandwidth. If i hit 125gb in any floating 30 day period, it costs me $10, iirc. It's never happened because there just isn't that much I'm trying to download. But I've been up around 90 gigs a couple times. |
