By thew ay I haven't heard back from Burson yet. I asked such a simple question - I wonder what's taking them so long. Anyway, for my ears that Thesycon driver sounds better on everything compared to what Burson has.

I don't have a Khadas board, but I might get one...not sure yet. Audiophonics has also an aluminium case at 14.90 EUR, so...for less than 150 EUR (shipping inc.) it's a small & great DAC.

P.S.: I've tested more than 20 manufacturer's XMOS drivers till I got this Khadas driver working on ASIO with my DSD256 files, so I don't own any website. :)

Got the Swing in yesterday for review and immediately paired it to the Fun/Bang on my desk replacing the Audio-GD I had hooked up. Took very little time to get everything happy and working and my first listening tests were with the He560v2 and man is that a good combination for use with the big planars. The Swing was easily on par with the the Audio-GD R2R-2 I replaced in detail level and was a bit cleaner in presentation. I think this may be THE budget setup for use with the He560 as at $1100 the only thing I have heard that powers the big planar better was also 3 times that price. Burson really seems to have done their homework on the swing as it is one of the cleanest 9038 implementations I've heard to date and doesn't have that sometimes telltale sterility that the Sabre's tend to. Way too early for a full review yet, but initial impressions are very good.

Great news @Wiljen, now...what about some naked pics, please? Also, nice close-ups will be greately appreciated. :)

Ok, I know you are talking about the swing now because nobody has ever wanted naked pics from me (me included).

My Swing basic arrived yesterday. First impressions are very positive.

I had a couple Burson V5 dual op amps laying around from a previous amp upgrade. I discovered that V5s are too tall. The cover will not fit on the unit with V5s installed. So don't go buying V5s for these Burson 5 1/2 drive form factor units unless you can find some of those flexible DIP8 extenders. The V6s obviously fit. I noticed that they are a little bit shorter. The V5s have an additional black plastic base that the pins are attached to.

I'll follow up with sound impressions after I've had time to listen for awhile.

AFAIK SS V5 has identical dimensions with SS V6. Also, V6 are good solid-state devices, maybe you won't be needing SS V5 after all.

P.S.:To whom do I need to PayPal to get some SWING intestines, please? :)

I assumed that the V5 and V6 opamps were the same height too. Unfortunately the lid won't seat back in place with a pair of dual V5s installed in the Swing. As soon as I have an opportunity I'll crack open my Fun and pull one of the V6 opamps and compare the V5 and V6 side by side. Also I'll try to snap a couple of pics of the Swing internals. Give me a bit of time as I'm my jobs is requiring extra hours this week.

Have you removed the DIP8 socket from under the SS V5? Usually, that socket is not actually needed.
Also, opamps like OPA1612, AD797 with proper single-to-dual adapters (if there is room for that), AD8599 or even MUSES8920 or 8820 might be tested inside SWING.

Thank for that info Raoultrifan. I did not relize that was a DIP8 socket on the bottom of the V5 opamps. It looked as it it were a fixed part of the op amp. I've removed it and I'm now sure they will fit with the Swing lid closed.
