the 1001 is actually a little lean in the bass unlike the d2k :D so this might be a good perfect compromise. I really love my d1001s BTW :D

I also love the 1001 but may be open to get the 1100 if they are a major improvement but we will need to see the street price before I make that decision. Look like a bigger pad from the picture and better cable which IMO on the 1001 is the weak spot.

more new denons -- the denon ah-a100 -- which looks to be the same cans as the 1100s but with a fancy wood cover .  the denon ah-a100 is part of the 100th anniversary premium components lineup found here :

please scroll down the page for the denon ah-a100 headphones .  i am also interested in the denon dp-a100 direct drive turntable .... not that i have any vinyl albums left over from the seventies ... but i guess i could buy a few new vinyls to go with the new denon dp-a100 direct drive turntable and just have it sitting on the equipment table looking awesome --

I am wondering what model will replace the 2000 if any but they sold well. Also any word on the 5 and 7000 if they are being replaced as I have seen no info on that and really enjoy my D7000 and I am running out of paper and feel  I am set for my cans for a long while.
