Just put in a pair on NOS Amperex in my LD+ and OMG… these 700’s are sounding better than I’ve ever heard them.
Better bass. Softer treble and the sweetest mids.

About the hd560s comparison, To me, the post 2022 hd560s is just way more neutral than the 900pro x. I've owned both the old hd560s, the 900 proX and still have the latest iteration of the 560s with me right now. With that said, the beyers are probably better to use when played loud. Those stellar 45 drivers can slam when pushed.

Damn... I just got my DT900 Pro X yesterday. Should I expect this to happen eventually??? Is it fixable out of warranty?Just checked mine and it's cracking at the same area. I put approx. ~5300 hours of use into them since I got them November 2021.
@Metal-Fi Did you replaced the whole cup (the one with the crack) ?

whoa… so, did you do it yourself? jeez… I wouldn’t feel conmfortable in replacing all the internals myself

Well, it is simpler than one may expect: once the pads and the mounting rings are removed, just hit the earcup against the palm of your hand (firmly but gently at the same time, of course); the driver will just "fall off", so no need to actually replace the internals. I guess there are several video tutorials showing this.

One of the better things of these Beyerdynamics is the high level of DIY. From pads to cable replacement, but also a complete transplantation of the drivers can be done by using a flathead screwdriver

My DT-900 Pro X has a hairline crack forming between the mini-jack and the ear cushion. Bummer, I've really babied these too. I don't think any other headphone that I have has had such an issue with such careful treatment.

I got them late March or early April 2023. I have used them but I have about 7 pairs of headphones that I rotate, they're covered when not in use and cared for well when in use. I bought from Sweetwater, I'm pursuing their 2-year coverage on it. I have had my DT-700 Pro X for about as long, cared for them the same, no issue at all on those.

It's purely cosmetic. It still holds the connector 100% fine. I'm not worried about it at all. You'll be fine. @Oscarilbo
