Is the 900 sharp like 990 ? I don't like too much treble

Just confirming as per others that it isn’t like that, bright but not sharp to me.

Also heard back about my replacement 3m cable, should shipping out tomorrow and they’re also sending me a coiled cable! :)

Exactly true, and very easy to opperate. really a detail for professional use.
Note that my DT900 earpads are made of two-tone (black/blue) soft form.

I found those numbers stamped on the earpad rings. 7 for 700PROX and 9 for 900PROX . That means the two models don't share earpads.

Thanks. My pads were a little bit misshaped so I'm wondering if it is because of the 900proX's double foam construction. I'll see whether or not I can fiddle with the foam to solve that issue.

Really enjoying the 900’s, fantastic headphones for the price. Used them nearly all day today while working. Big plus is that I can drive them decently on my Apple dongle as well whereas the 1990 pro’s need to be amped for me.

Replacement cable arrived, along with the free coiled cable and a Beyerdynamic hat - great customer service!

Need to give the 700’s some more love, they can have the spotlight tomorrow :)

So far, I am very positively surprised by the DT 900 Pro X. I love the design, the build quality and feel of these headphones is great. They look cool. They are super comfortable once the pressure from the cushions on the head is loosened up a bit by puling and bending the headband outwards. They also sound very enjoyable right out of the box with a sparkling treble, energetic mids and an open soundstage. For the price, these are a steal and I really believe they will be the next beyerdynamic hero-model like the old workhorses DT770 and DT990.

I will spend some more time with them over the next weeks and compare them to DT1770 Pro.
