I bought the A20 a couple of years ago to replace an Objective O2 and never looked back.
However, I was always curious to try the A2. I finally got my chance after finding a used one for a reasonable price.
This is going to be an exciting weekend!

Very nice, especially with the two T1 generations (though I always preferred the Gen 1 personally).I bought the A20 a couple of years ago to replace an Objective O2 and never looked back.

My A2 will return from repair soon, the volume poti scratched. Unfortunately it was not repaired due to the rather cumbersome Beyerdynamic repair process that did not fit well with myself moving into a new home at the same time…
Still I’m looking forward to its return. The problem is only apparent when I change volume, so I can keep ignoring it. And it’s a lovely amp, with a high build quality with good attention to detail.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that! Hopefully, they'll send it back soon.Very nice, especially with the two T1 generations (though I always preferred the Gen 1 personally).

Where are you based? Did you have to send it back all the way to Germany?
I've no idea how that would work here in the UK after Brexit
Regarding the T1, I really liked my T90 and always wondered how the T1 would sound (obviously). So I've got first the T1 2nd as I was afraid that the 1st gen was too similar to the T90. Didn't like it at first, but then I started to appreciate it. However, after getting the 1st gen I liked this one more.
It fits better most of my fav musical genres and it's like the way Beyer wanted the T1 to sound
Still couldn't get rid of the 2nd gen as sometimes I feel like I want a more relaxed experience.
Although I've to admit that overall the Arya blew pretty much everything away. If I could only have one, it would be the Arya.

Yes, i sent it back to Germany — not that far away actually, I’m living in Austria, so just south of Germany. In general Beyerdynamic offer very reasonable repairs even after warranty ends, and they have spare parts available for quite some time.Oh, I'm sorry to hear that! I have to admit that I despise Hifiman, never had one where the sound signature matches my preferences, and build quality was always subpar.
Used to own the T1 1. gen… sometimes I think I should not have sold it. Did not get around to listening to T1/T5 3. gen though…

After looking at what you have on your desk right now, yep, your weekend is probably going to be better than mine

I find the Arya somehow similar to the T90, but with a better layering of the instruments, more bass and a bigger sound : )
Build quality is a bit "meh" though

I hear you, Beyers are built like a tank and in this specific regard very good

Can anyone explain how the 'pass through' option works with this amp. Can I I connect it to a power amp and control the volume from the source ie Hugo 2?

In a way, yes. As Long as you don’t cause distortion at the input, you can of course set it to a rather high volume and just use the sources volume to control output. Can anyone explain how the 'pass through' option works with this amp. But I guess what might be referred to as pass-through is just that it has a set of RCA connectors in parallel to one of its inputs, usable for chaining. Nothing special actually, but maybe useful in some scenarios.

If I may ask, which amp are we speaking of?

Thanks! I wasn't aware that this amp features a pass-through option. Live and learn
