I kind of felt it.. sold my K812 and K872 in anticipation of new miracles from AAAustrian Audio is developing some higher end model as far as I’ve heard…
Though I now have to add that they are in fact Austrian

New - Austrian Audio Hi-X65
- Thread starter FritzS
- Start date
Maybe Austrian Audio can finally do what Sennheiser refuses to, or is now incapable of doing (once Axel Grell left) - build a proper German (or Austrian - close enough for me) successor to the HD 800.
There is still much better, and who thinks that with a Utopia or Stealth is the pole position, which will soon be amazed at what is still possible
NOMAX
PS.in 2023 will probably go the point to Vienna

A model that you put on your head and think to yourself, that can't be........how did they manage that?
Both in its acoustic performance as well as in construction
(I was present with my Nutopia for comparison)
NOMAX
PS.Many things are possible, provided you make more of an effort and try it harder than the competition

As someone between producers and community, I can't say too much, but if I'm amazed from the first 60 seconds, then that may mean something
In 2023 the point will go to Austrian Audio (formerly AKG) in every aspect
NOMAX
PS.lol

@Nomax I can live with some suspense
I normally prefer more bass than you but I can't remember really disliking any model you recommended. I think the X60 gave a good glimpse at what they're capable of and as long as they don't go price-crazy I'm definitely interested.

And do you like the Hi X65?
Just to get an idea what to expect.

Don't worry, the ........ will have a lot more bass, body and moving air mass without sacrificing resolution, transparency and audibility
That this will not be available for only a few hundred is self-evident
However, I am 100 percent sure that this model will have the best price-performance ratio to all competitors in the highest price segment
(And who knows, because this model will be very easy to drive, it could well be that a Pentaconn cable is included)
NOMAX
PS.This is how I personally would have liked the acoustic performance of Dan Clarks Open Back....the Expanse
(Unfortunately this was not the case)

I'm looking for something a little bit fun and warmer. Would I be missing a lot of details and separation moving on to Fostex TH610?
Has anyone faced issues with plastic connectors on the headband cracking? Both sides of mine are cracked and I've never dropped them.
@Angel III I have it on all 4 sides. That must be some obvious build issues since I've cared about them so much, but I'm surprised no one mentioned it before.

Have you bent the steel of the headset headband? Taking them from the cups.
No, only normal usage, putting them on and off grabbing by the cups.

Let's wait if anyone has the same problem as you. This evening I check my Hi X65. Was it new when you bought it?
