Can you provide a link to where he said that? I just checked the imgur link, the images are still there, and the reddit post is still up.

The Reddit link has been deleted and the comments too. Looks like the pictures are still up. He also deleted his account where he said that he lied about it. Hard to find a source. He said that he shopped it.

I thought he made that up (the "X" with a marker) but looks legit. ATH hasn't announced anything about it, weird.

Hmmm.. If it's true, I was hoping that they'd have a redesign. My current M-50's are modded to have a detachable cable, so without a redesign or improved sound, these are pretty useless to me..

Yeah or maybe its another model like M-60 not sure but looking at the picture it looks a lot like the M-50 but with a lot of silver in the design.

Well, IF they come out with an M60 for this refresh, it would likely get its own page in a brochure like that..

They all look great. The M50x looks almost identical to the M50, so no big change there. Personally, I really like the look of the M40x.

Looks like I found my next portable headphones . I kibd of wished I grab some M50s laste year during Blk Friday...100 bucks for a pair on amazon....maybe i should wait by then

Shame - I was hoping that they would release a new "M60" alongside a refreshed line, but it seems they've again decided to stick with it. 
 
They'd make a killing off upgraders if they added a new flagship - no question.
