New Audeze LCD3

My money is on the X being an LCD-2 with metal frame, LCD-3 pads, waveguide and a different dampening system.  Which makes it quite a bit like the 650 compared to the 600.  Wording is everything.  Audeze says thinner than competitors not the Lotus driver.

Just to confirm, the LCD-X have brand newly developed drivers (called Fazor) and they sound really, really good! A very good step up from the LCD-2s and give the LCD-3s a decent run for their money.

I'm a Lotus Exige kind of guy, so the LOTUS driver is good for me XD

The Fazors are not the new drivers, they are the waveguides (extra pieces added on adjacent to the drivers).

To confirm, the LCD-Xs do have new drivers as well. Thinner than the LCD-2s from my discussion with Sankar and the link you shared from the Audeze website mentions as much. It's this combination that makes the LCD-Xs special.

I'm planning on writing a review of them (LCD-X) and I'll contrast them to the LCD-3s.

No felt dampening? I wonder if a person can see The Fazor thru the outer grill.

Probably still has the felt damping, just not shown with the Audeze diagram for sake of simplicity.

I look forward to it. I much enjoyed your comparison of the LCD-2 & 3 and have read it several times.

Please, please don't make the X better than the 3s. I have the 3s, love them and most importantly can't afford another Audeze

  I don't have anything yet...

I was considering an Audio-GD PCM1704, since I've heard that Saber DAC's sound to bright...
