I am fed up with this thread.

Everytime I read it I change my mind on whether I want to put the LCD3's on my 'to buy' list or not.

All I do know is my LCD-2r2's sound amazing with the NFB-7/Master-6. I certainly would not sell them to finance the LCD3's.
My wallet is certainly relieved that some people prefer the LCD2's.

You do know all any one can do is give their impressions/opinions. I'm also happy with my LCD-2's but once I feel the veil/driver failure issues have been addressed and remedied, I'll be jumping all over 'em. But hey, you say you're happy, so stop looking at the thread and save yourself the torture.

My comment was rather 'tougue in cheek' not meant as a critism at all.
I have enjoyed reading the thread, even more now that it could of saved me some money

I'm doing enough ,with my tube rolling.......-I have no plans on getting the LCD-3's,now.--maybe next year??
If anything,I MIGHT??? start looking at new cables for the Lcd-2

What confuses me is the fact that the LCD 2 had issues too but they're pretty much fixed now. I haven't heard anyone reporting failure and what not from them much at all lately, but the LCD 3 keeps coming up with issue after issue.

It's just confusing all around. Stop revamping the LCD 2 and fix your flagship...

You are almost done tube rolling, so don't speak too soon. I know you'll have an LCD-3 by Christmas?

That wasn't my question. What if our listening experience doesn't match our preconceived idea about certain gear? Are we supposed to ignore what we hear?

I totally agree, go with what sounds best.  I've often preferred much cheaper phones.  My comment wasn't about price.  If someone has the impression that a %$%^^&$ Ultrasone is more detailed than a hugemongous driver ortho with hugemongous magnets and lamborghini diaphragms, they either have some learning to do/hearing problems, or the(ir) LCD-3 does ;).

But realistically it could be due to a number of factors including the in your face hyped fake detail which some will perceive as more detailed, and also the mysterious who-knows-how-much-your-pair-has veil.

I've just purchased an RMA'd LCD3 and already have the LCD2Rev2. Have found in side-by-side comparos that the 2 has a tighter, more detailed sound. IMO, it is a beter phone, all things considered. I wonder if any owners of both have had a similar experience? Most seem to consider their 3's to be better.

Also wonder how Audeze would feel about returning a pair for testing that has already been 'cherry picked'.

I had a similar impression, and described it briefly just a few pages ago.  I've also written out much longer impressions, but not sure I want to post because it isn't too flattering...

Here's the post where I descirbed the LCD-2rev2 sounding faster and more transparent than the LCD-3 I heard.  Keep in mind, this depends greatly on which LCD-2rev2 and which LCD-3.  I'm sure there are some LCD-2rev2's that sound much worse than the veiled LCD-3...

Have there been any reports on the LCD-2 Rev 2.2? haha
Come to think of it Audeze is out of control!

I think the rev.2 are more up front than the LCD-3, wich might explain why people aren't wowed with the LCD-3...

BTW.. I prefer the HD650 to the HD800, but not saying the HD800 isn't worth its price nor that it is not technically superior.

I know a couple of people that have compared the rev.2 to the LCD-3 directly and preferred the former! Maybe the LCD-3 is not an improvement at all, just a different flavor.

We should remember that all models Audez'e has made are among the best dynamic headphones ever produced.  It is a small company that struggels to meet insane demand. It has a 3 year warranty and accepts people to send in their LCD-3's for quality control without questions. Stop nagging.

The problem they solved with the LCD-2 was one that had been present for some time and I do recall that several users had shown appreciation for the new angled connectors on the LCD-3, as the connectors on the LCD-2 were splitting.  I myself have never had this problem, but a feature that caused severe damage to a vital part of the headphone seems like something that should be fixed before releasing a completely new headphone.  None of this is to say that I think Audeze doesn't need to shape up with the LCD-3.  Granted it's a new diaphragm and they're not a tenured company, but people are paying $2k for it.  We deserve high quality QC and product consistency.  I just believe the problems with the LCD-2 - the cable and connectors - should have taken precedent.

Completely agreed. But wasn't their warranty only 1 year until pretty recent? Regardless I think Audeze is doing a fine job, I just find them to be quirky

On what parameter(s) do you think LCD-3 is / are better? Coherence, bass extention, vocals, or what? :)
