JUDE you are kidding. The headphone jack goes in front where the volume control is. Did you suck me in on this one. I am looking forward to your review. What headphones are you going to use. I hope you use the 580s and if you have the koss portapro give that a try and say WOW.

Lou, in order to play a bit with Jude's mind, I placed both input and output on the front panel.

Ummmmmmm, hehe, lets just say I learned a valuable lesson about AC and DC, Rat Shack needs to do a bit better packaging and I need to get my eyesight checked....

Well, that shouldn't have blown anything in the amp I reckon??

The adapter was AC to AC not AC to DC. Probably fried the opamps and maybe the PS caps. The adapter wasn't very clearly labeled either on the website or on the packaging but to the tell you the truth I'm a bit of a moron when it comes to that ( I had no idea what a wall wart was) so it probably wouldn't have made a difference. With all my experience I should know better but it just kinda went out the window for some reason.

That's what JMT said happened to my CMOY...

I knew it! Customs must have tested the suspicious black box during quarantine, and used an AC supply!!!

AC (alternating current) will do it for sure. As will using the wrong polarity on the correct AC/DC adapter.

Heaven knows what custom's did... take your pick

Its kind of ironic that people who have the money to buy equipment (not nessecarily you Jude) end up getting things for free, when us low income folk save for weeks to get a basic amp.
I am speaking of other situations of the like as well.....
Jude- I have had my Meta for 3 weeks and I am itching to upgrade it! My guess is it would only get better.

What?!? That's nuts! What IS going on at US airports these days??

Well, Jan's Porta Corda's are protected against reverse polarity, so that's why I thought using an AC supply wouldn't have fried elnero's amp... but that didn't help me as my first DC supply just plain outputted more volts than it claimed...
