... ... The first thing I checked after opening the BE was the pads. The pad/velour material on my silver one was horrible and my complaints on that is somewhere in this thread. SE velour material was close to felt paper. The BE almost feels like fabric softener was added 🤔 still far from being a high quality velour tho.
If there was indeed a different/worst pad material, it must have been at early units. I bought my pair (silver finish) in October 2022 and its pads have a really soft and nice feel, quite friendly to the head and ears, like the one you describe for BE.
I hope it stays like this for future pad replacements, though I am not remotely near replacement time. The pads are still like new with no signs of wear or altered softness/compliance, in spite of continuous use all this time (average 8-10 hours per week).

Someone please can advise which other headphone has same deep soundstage and instrumental separation like NDH30, I testes AEON flow X is one of the most similar but less deep and no round despite shape of earpads

.... heck, 'sample variation' occasionally describes my ears. After a day when the headphone audio system sounds celestial, the next day that system sounds infernal. On those days: ... "do something else ... extra workout ..."
I've noticed the same thing. Wonder why that is....... I'll keep listening to great albums as I contemplate this reality.

Same driver as the NDH-30, too.
To be honest, this expression that they have the same driver really infuriates me. According to this statement, there is no point in buying others if, for example, the HD 560S has the same driver. Well, now to the essence of the issue. I have an HD 400 Pro, HD 490 Pro and NDH 30, and also had an HD 560 S. And they all sound different. In my opinion, the NDH 30 is best for listening to music, and the HD 490 Pro for working with sound.
But that's just my hearing

Same driver but very different implementation. Changing the housing and damping scheme on a driver can have profound effects on the sound presentation and even sound quality.

It's strange that you tell me this. I understand this because I usually disassembly down my headphones and share my photos whenever possible :)

I dissemble my headphones as well and often show pictures of it myself. I also modify headphones and have firsthand experience of huge sound quality changes with the same driver depending on how well implemented the driver is.

I personally didn’t like the HD 560S or HD 400 Pro much, too lean and anemic for my liking and I didn’t like their treble presentation. Haven’t heard the HD 490 Pro (will probably like the velour pads more based one comments of the fabric ones sounding more like the HD 560S). The NDH-30 didn’t engage me but I didn’t have enough time with it to see if it grows on me or not. It didn’t sound like the HD 560S or HD 400 Pro to me though and was of higher fidelity to my ears.
