ugh... well that's stupid.Nope, the NDH30 connector is a little thinner.
ugh... well that's stupid.
is it safe to assume the NDH20 and the NDH30 use the same connector?
that would just be ridiculous if they aren't
… conveys more …It's good to learn some engineering basics when you are knee deep in this hobby. Graphs convey a lot of information for the people in the know
It's very good.Man this thread and the HD660S2 thread scares me. Is the n30 really this good? Or hyper overhyped? Ugh only one way to find out i guess. I got a bonus at work, i need to know if you're all on the crazy train, or a stairway to heaven with this set...
In all seriousness though the feedback about this headphone is really peaking my interest. I was hoping to find a refurb or b stock, but curiosity is gnawing bad, I'll go in full price i guess...twist my arm! I'll give impressions once received.
Yes, they do. The black edition 20 has exactly the same cable with the balanced mini plug connector and mesh covered cable as the 30.ugh... well that's stupid.

I had no idea Hart did silver cables! I love their cables, the modular system is genius.Just got the silver XLR cable from Hart Audio. Super quick initial impression. The added dynamic, transparency and spacial resolution is nudging NDH30 closer toward Utopia sound profile and away from HD6xx sound. On GSX, NDH30 is becoming a bit more “ear candy” than what I personally prefer. I am instead pairing the silver cabled NDH30 with Linn gear as its warmer characteristic balances out the more hifi sounding NDH30. A slightly warmer sounding amp could also do the trick. But that transparency and resolution increase…NICE.
I didn't know they had a modular system I basically emailed all the major cable makers and asked them to make me NDH30 cables. Most said no and only FogCity and Hart said yes.I had no idea Hart did silver cables! I love their cables, the modular system is genius.
Yep, it's a great system. You chose your amp connection and length, and that end terminates in a mini xlr. You choose your headphone connection type and length, and that also terminates in the opposite mini xlr. Plug the two together and you're good to go. What I love is i can leave various amp sided cables with the various amps I have (4.4mm, xlr, and 1/4"), and leave the headphone ends with each headphone. That way moving around I'm never caught with the wrong cable.I didn't know they had a modular system I basically emailed all the major cable makers and asked them to make me NDH30 cables. I would not sell any headphone that has unique attributes that you appreciate. You need variety otherwise you will get bored with just a couple of cans.Still having trouble selling the HD800S in favor of the NDH 30 and 660S2, while the former perform a lot more natural there's just something about the ethereal nature of the HD800S, the way it presents instruments, vocals, resolve, details and the soundscape itself.
It may at times sound unnatural, distant, kinda thin and edges on being sibilant for certain recordings, there's just something so captivating about the way it presents sound. It's like listening to lucious jazz music in a cozy bar in heaven.
I totally understand why most owners of the HD800 love it and/or hate it and the worst is most keep getting back for that fix that no other headphone manages to provide so far. It's one of the greatest examples of a 2 edged sword in the headphone world.
