Only if I can use the leather pads.🙂

They look nice. However, the velour pads are extremely comfortable on the NDH 30, and I'm sure that they would also be part of the tuning. Try them for a few weeks with the original pads before you change to the leather pads, when (not if!) you get them.

Nice! I measured this a few weeks ago and shaw that it can be done. The Sennheiser headband is clearly preferable.
Yes, I saw your. That's why I took this photo. But I changed the headband back in December, I was just too lazy to show it :)

Write what kind of music do you listen to? Or something cool related to music - headphones are generally for music and not just for technical digging from all sides)))))
Because the topic has become boring, I already yawn when I read)))))))

So I got a set of used NDH30s in and am reporting back. I am no longer confused and can confirm that, to my ears at least, they are indeed nothing like the HD700. These NDH30 are quite smooth out of an iPad, out of a Wm1a and, out of an HDV820. Not disappointed at all first listen but will let it sink in for a few weeks.

Glad I stumbled on this thread - thanks all!

I am so confused :) - I have had both the HD650 and the HD700 running on various low to midfi dac\amps and I cannot think of two headphones further appart in this world than those two… as far as my ears are concerned.
Is unit variance on the NDH30 really so wide that some of them sound like HD650s and others sound like HD700s ?

A cable was also purchased and, with the help of a non-tricky  tool, was adapted for use with NDH 30.

I think there is a more elegant way.

Bought this pricy adapter and sanded it a little ( it's diameter is 0,5 mm bigger, like the plug size for hd 560s). After that you can use every 3,5mm cable.
This way I am using my V-moda on ndh 30 for gaming.

Btw, I really like your idea to chance the headband! Will change it too for shure.

I haven't been listening much in the last couple of days. We are all very upset and speechless in front of the unthinkable railroad tragedy that struck Greece three days ago. It happened just 25 km away from my town taking the lives of 57 people (maybe more), most of them young students.
Reading/writing here is like a parallel world, an escape...
I decided to listen to some binaural material (Chesky's) that I received a few days ago. The first impression is of images of very high precision, extreme I might say. But such recordings are spectacular with almost every good headphone. I will report more in the next days.

I really hope they make a black version soon, with its own hard case. Additionally, if Dekoni or another could make alt pads that would be great. I mean the pads on these felt great and do the job but Dekoni is hit or miss. Some of their pleather or fenestrated will beat fabric / furry type pads like these on some cans, sometimes not (like how there's never been alternative sets of ear pads, especially pleather / leather, that sounded better or even as good as stock Sennheiser HD series velour pads. Anyway, back to waiting.

On behalf of myself and my fellow Canadians, our deepest condolences to all of the families affected by this tragedy and to all Greek citizens. Prayers and thoughts.
