Need to replace my 60 gig ipod photo HD...

I just replaced the stock hard drive in my iRiver H140 to upgrade it to 60GB. The H140 uses the *exact* same hard drive as your iPod. I got mine from eWiz for a good bit less than what is shown in the link above.

Changing the drive yourself is a snap...almost literally...after opening the case, you just pull out the old drive and "snap" the new one in. So easy even I could do it.

Thats awsome ^
Yea I got my battery and extra hard drive on ebay. Ipodmods is only good if you want it installed and don't want to do it yourself... I suggest also getting a battery, a 1100mAh one that is almost twice as long lasting goes for just over 20usd shipped! Then while you are inside the pod, you can replace both for a brand spankin new ipod!

edit:
oh by the way how long have you had your ipod? Mine started clicking awhile back, and I would have to slap a corner to jump star the hdd. After awhile, I realized it was the battery's fault- after so much time it doesn't hold much of a charge anymore and doesnt have enough juice to startup the software/spin the hdd all at once. After replacing the battery with the one above, the hdd felt like new again. You might want to try the battery first. Then again I still got a 60g hdd because mine was a 40gb one..

I bought a refurbed one over a year ago from Apple. It's hit or miss. It will work fine for a little while and then lock up. Seems to be working better when plugged into the wall. Either way it freezes up randomly and stays lit up for a while then shuts off completely. I will definitely replace the battery first and then hd. Note: I have nothing against buying refurbed ipods and this mishap is normal concidering what it's been through. It's been dropped several times so I tink it's the HD.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Hey DO, that's exactly what happens to mine!, well mine wasn't purchased refurb, but rather it was a replacement from the warranty. I realized after awhile that the refurbs apple sells and gives as replacements always have the old batteries in them, hence all the problems..
