but k501 is hard to find now, it is discontiued

On a completely different topic perhaps, but between my HD600 and MS-1/MS2i, the music is absolutely beautiful on the HD600! For the music they are most intended for, they are very hard to beat! But for some reason the MS-1/Ms2i bring on more goosebumps and the desire to reach for a Kleenex. They seem to play more to the emotions than the Senns.

The grados do that a lot hehehe. The senns do seem unemotional sometimes. more analytical but when the parts they excel at hit you with the right music, they give you goosebumps too

Audio Technica A500s.

Sony MDR-V6 or Audio-Technica AD700. The AD700 is more balanced, IMO. For the money, the MDR-V6 may be your cup of tea. Most everyone and their mom has a V6 or the MDR-7506 (arguably similar to the V6), so find a buddy and check it out.

HD555's don't have laid back bass, but a laid back sound in general. Some people find them boring, others do not. In comparison to the K240S the Senn's aren't as boomy nor as bright.

The eH350's have a tight, well maintained bass, but it's pushed back. It's not upfront or really shown.

thanks~

555s is dark, so kill it ^_^

So true. What I was getting at with the comment was how the Alessandro worked on the emotions better than the Senns do, at least in my case. Maybe it's the more in-your-face presentation or something, or some other facet of its' signature, but what ever the reason, the MS-1/MS2i really play to the emotions a bit better than the more laid-back Senns.
