I've never been a HUGE fan of classical music, but I never really disliked it. Anyway, I recently stumbled across a cd of Yo-Yo Ma's Inspired By Bach and am loving it. I particularly enjoy Suite No. 1 in G Major.

Any recommendations for something similar that I might enjoy?

Try Brahms and Britten's Cello Suites. And of course, the other Bach Cello suites if you haven't already (I recommend the Rostropovich recording).

If you like the Bach, try some more:
Well-Tempered Clavier (Books I & II)
All of the unaccompanied cello suites
and of course, the Brandenburg Concertos

I really enjoy Vivaldi's cello concertos.

I didn't find the Britten cello suites anywhere near as accessible as Bach or Brahms. I only listened to them a couple of times from a CD I checked out of the library. I realize they need more than a couple of listens, but there's so much music to buy I haven't bothered.

NPR's Curious Listener's Guide to Classical Music is a good place to start for an overview.

I'd recommend picking up more Bach - I especially like his harpsichord concertos.

Rostopovic's Haydn Cello Concerto are amazing and you will not be disappointed I think with them!
