Hey folks
 
My old Sennheiser HD212pro are retiring after 8 years! ( btw... I just gave them a celebratory review! : )
 
I want to take it up a notch but new ones still have to work on a media player like my Cowon iAudio7. No other amplifying!
 
I'm looking for - a closed phone - great sound - sturdiness - around $150 - stylish - weather resistant.
 
I have been looking at the Sennheiser HD25-1 II. I love that they have spare parts, are sturdy, cord-protection and clean professional looking. What I don't know is if they are suited listening to on a media player due to lack of proper amplifying.
 
What gives? What can you say on the HD25-1 II and what other headphones can you recommend me?

From the list I`d get Audio Technica ATH-M50....has less impedance than HD25-1, so it won`t suffer as much with the lack of an amp

The HD25s do not need an amp to sound good. My tiny Clip+ makes them rock to adequate levels, if you know what I mean.
