I need some proper closed headphones or possibly earbuds (NO IEM) for under 100 dollars. Specifically to be used with my iPod. This rules out Grados and such, but im also looking for something that has some amount of noise cancelling; but its not a must. More importantly I need something comfortable, and my main fear about px1000's are comfortability and long term worth...

full size: sennheiser hd280
IEM: etymotic er6i with (shure olive tips)

i have owned both, they provide amazing isolation. both can be driven fine with an ipod. The px100 will provide very little isolation and leak more like a grado. The px200 is the closed version, but it doent sound as good because it is so hard to get a proper seal.

edit: denon d1000 will probably sound better than 280, just less isolation

do a little searching before trying to mod sr60s to stop the leakage, u might find out they sound terrible when modded, see if anyone else has attempted a mod like this

If you do that there's no point in getting the Grados. If you want something small, try the Yuin PK3/2

yuins are regarded as the best of the ear buds, i dont think there are many other options for high end earbuds, maybe the sennheiser buds
