I looked and couldn't find anything so I will ask here. new to this cable building got all my stuff together to do it.
but have a question about these Redco 2.5mm trs connectors I got. making a balanced cable for some hifiman 400i I have. so there will be two wires hot and ground going to each 2.5mm. how do I know where to solder the hot wire to the plug? not sure how to add a pic here of connector but it has like a cylinder that I connect the hot too?. does It matter were I solder the wire? from what I can tell the tip is left the ring is right and bottom is ground. hope I question comes across. thanks

You can't do stereo balanced with a TRS (the L and R - signals cannot be connected together). I presume the 2.5mm are for the headphone ends? If so, you would only be using one + and one - to each (L and R channels). The + goes to the tip (T), and the - goes to the sleeve (S). If this is for the amp end, then you will need a 4 conductor plug (TRRS).
