hey all,
The M11 has been getting mostly positive reviews, especially when speaking of power output and features. The power output is an inegma- let me explain- we know that balanced outputs are higher power ratings, and also ONE of the reasons balanced generally sounds better. But with the M11, the unbalanced output is only like 185mv. In my recent purchase of several "Best IEM's Under $100", I purchased about 6 different pairs of phones. NONE of them are driven to usable output and dynamic range. the ONE of the six sets that can be changed out for balanced cables is totally transformed and sounds AMAZING!! The rest, like most 'phones in the say $15-$100 range cannot be switched out with cables so you are stuck with horrible sounding earphones. Is the answer to dump the Fiio M11, I still have a week to decide?
....IF SO,
What are my Choice(s) to replace it?
Is there a workaround I am not seeing?
Your advice is appreciated!!
