I've just received the SE425, and it does sound very neutral.
A suggestion, is that as a thread here on Head-Fi states, it seems that the SE425 with the grey damper from
http://www.knowles.com/eng/Products/Accessories/Dampers
shows a similar response to the SE535.
I'd suggest looking up the thread on replacing the SE535 damper, which should introduce you to these dampers and how one of them will allow you to buy the 425, test it, then swap out the damper to match the SE535 if you don't like the 425.
